Research infrastructure for the humanities, digital text, cognitive semantics, history of Danish, and situated language.

Ph.d. supervision

Has supervised seven PhDs with themes from the following subject areas: Machine translation, linguistic modelling, history of Danish, Danish grammar, material philology, situated language understanding.

Undervisning

Underviser i dansk sprog og kommunikation på grunduddannelsen. Kandidatuddannelseskurser i dansk semantik og pragmatik, i digital tekst (med Dorthe Duncker), i ældre dansk tale- og skriftsprog med materialfilologi. Sammen med Dorthe Duncker udviklet det tekstbaserede e-learningsystem DIT, dansk med it. DIT-systemet er under udvikling i en netversion - DIT-NET. 

Vejledningsområder

Vejleder gerne i emner inden for nyere og nyeste dansk sprog, semantik, ordforråd, leksikografi, i sproglig og filologisk it og i ældre dansk og nordisk sprog og filologi. Vejleder på grundlag af Det integrerede sprogsyn: Sprog er dynamisk og interaktivt og skal undersøges i kontekst; der er ingen skarpe skel mellem semantiske og pragmatiske processer.

2004 Appointed member of The Arnamagnean Commission.

1969 Awarded the gold medal from University of Copenhagen for a thesis on “The vocabulary of Danish in the 16th century”.
