Research interests
The main focus of my group has been to study the structure, function, pharmacology and drug discovery of G protein-coupled receptors in the fields of metabolism and neuroscience.

The has led to development of discovery of novel pharmacological tool compounds which have been used to study mechanism of G protein-coupled receptor function.

A special focus has been on orphan G protein-coupled receptors which has led to identification of novel (endogenous) ligands for the GPR139, GPRC6A and GPR20 receptors. Moreover, we have used these ligands and genetically modified mice to uncover physiological functions of the receptors.

Since 2022 I have been Vice-dean for Research where my focus has shifted towards creating the best possible conditions for the researchers at our faculty to perform world-class research.
