Associated professor at Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagen until April 2023. Has studied the epidemiology of multiple sclerosis and cardiovascular diseases on the basis of registers, and been engaged in risk factor epidemiology, research on social inequality with focus on social welfare, life expectancy and health expectancy. Has been engaged in public health modelling, and quantitative health impact assessment. Has joined European and other international research activities on social welfare, life expectancy and health expectancy, Nordic co-operation on Multiple Sclerosis Epidemiology, European collaboration on Public Health Models, and collaborative register research. Has published 160 scientific peer reviewed articles (50 as first or single author), editorials and letters in scientific journals, and several book chapters, minutes and reviews.
