Personal profile

Current research

My primary research topics are reading and spelling in Danish - but I am also interested in vocabulary development, Danish phonetics and orthography, language testing, and other linguistic topics.

Currently I am involved in several projects. Previous projects include Self-teaching of new vocabulary: Enhancing children's word learning during independent reading (2015-2019) and Development of Speed in Reading (2009-2013).

Teaching

I teach and supervise students at BA, MA and PhD levels. Main topics: reading, spelling, vocabulary development, Dansih phonetics and orthography, language testing. Students with an interest in doing small-scale empirical studies are especially welcome!

CV

Associate professor at NorS since 2009. Researchwise affiliated with the Centre for Reading Research; teachingwise with the Audiologopedics programmes.

Ph.d. in 2004. Dissertation title: 'Spelling Problemse in Danish'. (I have since regretted the spelling error "Problemse" in the title - somehow, librarians just do not get the joke.)
