Short presentation

Jakob Willesen recieved his degree as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1999. Since year 2000 he has worked at the University Hospital for Companion Animals. In 2008 Jakob Willesen was awarded the PhD degree for his work with the French Heartworm (Angiostrongylus vasorum) in dogs.

Jakob Willesens primary work and research are within the field of Internal Medicine in Companion Animals and comprises among others:

  • Clinical cardiology
  • Respiratory disease
  • Cardiopulmonary parasites

Through our universit employment we are often in collaboration with veterinary pharmaceutical companies. We have no personal or financial involvement in this projects. 

As private person outside my actifivies at the university I do, on occasion, give lectures to dogs owners, veterinarians or companies as part of their training of employees.
