Personal profile

Short presentation

I work within the field of sociolinguistics, which means that I am broadly interested in the role that language plays in social life.

I am currently working as a PhD Fellow at the Centre for Internationalisation and Parallel Language Use at the University of Copenhagen as part of the research project "AI and the University: Towards a sociolinguistics of literacy and voice in the age of generative language technology" (AI-UNI), sponsored by the Carlsberg Foundation. In my PhD project, I explore how undergraduate university students in a health science study programme use text-generative language technology in the process of acquiring disciplinary discourses. In doing so, I aim to understand the role of generative artificial intelligence in students’ acquisition of academic literacy.

Fields of interest

  • Language and society
  • Language ideology
  • Artificial intelligence in academic practice
  • Linguistic ethnography
