Personal profile

Short presentation

Korbinian Löbmann received his PhD degree from the National School of Pharmacy, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand in 2013, and his PhD thesis was put on the Health Sciences Divisional List of Exceptional theses based on research content, originality, quality of expression, and accuracy of presentation. After his PhD, he was appointed as Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Copenhagen, Denmark and obtained a position as Associate Professor in April 2017. He is a trained pharmacist and did his university education at the Ludwig Maximilian University, Munich, Germany.

His research interests are in formulation and physico-chemical characterization of drug formulations and delivery systems and in particular the development of enabling formulations using novel excipients, such as deep eutectic solvents (DES) or cellulose nanofibers (CNF); or new formulation strategies, such as co-amorphous drug delivery systems or microwave amorphization (in situ amorphization). The research aims to improve drug therapy and efficacy of poorly soluble drugs through appropriate formulation of medicines.
