I am an associate professor at SODAS and the Department of Anthropology. I am also Head of Studies for the M.Sc. in Social Data Science, and Deputy Director of SODAS.

My research focuses on disaster, climate adaptation, sea level rise, digital methods, and data ethics.

I am part of the team on the ERC funded project DISTRACT - The Political Economy of Distraction in Digitized Denmark, where we, among other things, investigate concerns about attention in the digital age.

Another strand of my research examines how disasters shape societies and communities. I am PI on the project Coastal Conflicts, funded by the Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF), which maps the characteristics and dynamics of disagreements about coastal and storm surge protection measures in Denmark. I am also PI on the project SURGE: Anticipatory Narratives of Sea Level Rise in the North Sea Region, which will investigate expectations of how sea level rise will change local landscapes and housing patterns.

I was also part of an appointed research network on RealDania's campaign "Cities and the Rising Sea", which supports Danish municipalities work on storm surge management.

I have previously conducted fieldwor in Central Europe (Germany) on post-flooding adaptation, as well as in the South Pacific (Fiji) on the epistemic cultures of disaster management experts. I have been a part of the interdisciplinary project Changing Disasters and I am a member of the Copenhagen Center for Disaster Research (COPE).

I am the co-coordinator of the DICAN network (Disaster and Crisis Anthropology Network), a network under the EASA (European Association of Social Anthropology).
