Personal profile

Short presentation

My main research areas lie within molecular microbiology with a focus mainly on pathogenic bacteria. I have studied enterobacterial pathogens and opportunistic pathogens like E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae; these including molecular and phenotypic studies on pathogenesis and stress tolerance. I am now engaged in different projects focusing on Staphylococcus aureus; also employing molecular and phenotypic approaches to describe cell physiological aspects and tolerance/resistance phenotypes.
