Primary fields of research

Mikkel Mailand is associated professor and head of research at Employment Relations Research Centre (FAOS). He takes part in the research group Knowledge, Organizations and Politics at Department of Sociology.

Collective bargaining rounds in the public sector; tripartite cooperation and corporatism; EU-level labour market regulation; non-standard employment. 

Most important research contributions are, e.g.: A monography and a number of articles in high-ranking journals and edited volumes on European labour market regulation; three monography and a number of journal articles about tripartite cooperation/corporatism in work and welfare related policies in Denmark as well as in a number of other EU member states; a monography and a number of journal articles regarding recent public sector industrial relations in Denmark.

Current research

I work currently (spring 2024) on, e.g., the EU-funded comparative project DEVCOBA about organising, collective agreement coverage and labour shortages in eldecare and childcare, as well as two other projects about the Danish public sector, focusing on the collective bargainig round 2024 and non-standard employment respectively.
