Personal profile

Short presentation

Mona Chor Bjørn has a PhD degree in Applied Ecology. She has a particular interest in the restoration, transformation and management of herbaceous vegetation types to support native flora and fauna as well as counteract biodiversity loss and negative effects of urbanization.

A central part of her research deals with ecology and habitat specialization of native species as well as their function in natural and urban environments. Over the past eight years, she has mainly researched nature-based solutions (Local drainage of rainwater) and developed new knowledge about how these can be optimized as stepping stone habitat for plants and animals in cities.

She is engaged in teaching and supervision of several study programmes at both bachelor and master level e.g. landscape architecture, nature management, biology.
