My primary research interest lies in immunology and pathology with special expertise in fish and involves studies with immune system, in vivo infection models, pathogen - host interactions, vaccine research and exposure experiments.

(SUND) University of Copenhagen (UCPH). 

Thesis title: ”Vaccination of rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss, against Aeromonas salmonicida – Different

vaccine formulations tested with a new infection model.”

Achievement: Establishing a collaboration with a Copenhagen-based biotech company Evaxion Biotech

03.09.2010       MSc in Parasitology, Faculty of Life Sciences (LIFE), UCPH.

Thesis title: “Immunization of rainbow trout with Ichthyophthirius multifiliis: humoral and cellular immune factors elucidated by qPCR and immunohistochemistry.

Achievement: Master thesis resulted in a peer-reviewed paper that for the first time, shows the presence of immunoglobulin T positive cells in the tissues of rainbow trout (over 130 citations)

Thesis title: “The ecohelminthological study of flounder Platichthys flesus trachuris (Duncker) in the coastal waters of northern Hiiumaa, Estonia”.
