Personal profile

Teaching

I am interested in how economic logics affect lived lives as well as how economic logics and ideas can be studied as we in anthropology study other cultural and social phenomana - that is by looking at social norms, rituals, narratives, taboos and the like. Particularly. I am interested in how ideas of of growth, productivity gains, competition and win-win form the ways in which we organize work in especially the public sector, but also in the pricate sector and in private homes. I am also interested in concepts like work, value, and time, and not least how they are linked and some times not linked resulting in some people being paid to do jobs that seem unnecessary, and others seem to do necessary work without beind paid. Latest I have been studying moral distress in police, schools and elder care. Also I have conducted research to find out why nurses in Denmark seems to abandon the public hospitals. Keywords in my research are: economy, time, work, value, public sector, moral distress.
