Personal profile

CV

I am Professor, Group Leader and Program Coordinator at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR). I have obtained my Bachelor in Physiology from the University of Toulouse (France) and a Master and PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Nice Côte d’Azur (France). I have conducted my postdoctoral studies in the laboratory of Prof. Juleen Zierath at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, after what I worked as a Lecturer at the University of New South Wales in Sydney. In 2010, I joined the CBMR to establish the Environmental Epigenetics lab at the University of Copenhagen. I am Head of the Gametic Epigenetic Consortium against Obesity (GECKO), Associate Editor for Frontiers Endocrinology and member of the Editorial Board of Environmental Epigenetics. I am recipient of the Helmholtz Young Investigator in Diabetes Award (HeIDI). I am trainer in Leadership and Management for scientists for hfp-consulting (https://hfp-consulting.com)

Short presentation

Our lab focuses on the influence of lifestyle factors on the risk to develop metabolic disorders later in life or in the next generation offspring. More specifically, we aim to understand the mechanisms by which dietary factors and physical activity remodel the epigenetic content of metabolic cells and gametes.

Our group is using various genomic approaches in cell systems, animal models and interventions in humans to address the contribution of epigenetic factors in health and disease. Our work on epigenetic inheritance benefits from the outstanding resources and the collaborative network of the GECKO, a consortium funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (Challenge Programme).
