Personal profile

Short presentation

Professor Stephan Wenkel is a visiting researcher from Umeå Plant Science Centre at Umeå University in Sweden.

His research has a particular focus on microproteins. Microproteins are small regulatory proteins that can engage their targets in protein complexes, which can strongly influence their biological activity. His work aims to better understand the evolution of microproteins and to elucidate their biological function in case studies.

Group members from the Plant Development research group have moved to the Alkaloid Biosynthesis and Transport research group.
