Short presentation

Research interest circles around applied biorefinery research, i.e. biomasses and densification, pretreatment, enzymatic modification/saccharification, and fermentation hereof, as well novel methods and assays enabling more efficient industrial conversion (e.g. in relation to 2G ethanol, biogas, og protein feed). In spite of the apparent applied research field, breakthroughs still relies on understanding on a basic/molecular level. Especially comprehending the plant and algae cell wall in all of its complexity is intriguing to me.

The most obvious resource is one of the most well-equipped biomass laboratories in Denmark including my favourite workhorses an ASE 350 (accelerated solvent extractor), HPLC’s and a high-throughput platform. I have 10+ years of experience within bioenergy research and have a widespread scientific and industrial professional network.
