Lifelong clinician scientist career with a focus on basic and clinical research within HIV / AIDS, hepatitis C, sepsis and pneumonia. Clinical trial focus on sepsis, pneumonia, HIV and viral respiratory infections (COVID-19, influenza and RSV). Investigator and subinvestigator of clinical phase I-III trials of antiretrovirals, antivirals and vaccines. Clinical management of patients infected with sepsis, pneumonia, meningitis, tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis B and C. Chaired phase I, II and III Data Safety Monitoring Boards.
