Personal profile

Current research

My current interests include: 1) Spin Matrix theory, a proposal for a quantum mechanical theory from which gravity and geometry can emerge. This is in the context of the holographic principle, the AdS/CFT correspondence and string theory. This is related to non-relativistic geometry that I'm also currently doing research in. 2) Finite-temperature physics of gauge and string theory. Recently found the Hagedorn temperature for all couplings in the AdS/CFT correspondence, and were able to connect it from weakly coupled gauge theory and all the way to string theory. 3) Gravity and black holes. Recently worked on exact solutions for magnetospheres of the Kerr black hole, which is relevant for astrophysical jets. Currently also investigating new geometric formulations of gravity in the limit of speed of light going to infinity.

Short presentation

My research areas are theoretical high-energy physics and gravitational physics.

I am currently head of the "theoretical particle-physics and cosmology" section at the Niels Bohr Institute.

I teach the courses "General Relativity and Cosmology" and "Introduction to String Theory".
