Personal profile

Primary fields of research

I am interested in how sport interacts with politics, business and mass media. Often with a organizational perspective I explore diverse topics such as international anti-doping policy, sponsorships, sport scandals and exercise as a means of work place health promotion.

Knowledge of languages

Scandinavian languages, German and English.

Teaching

Qualitative Methods (Master and bachelor) and the Organization of Sport - Theory and Practise (Bachelor).

I am a member of the Study Board (2022-24).

Current research

I am engaged in my major research stream:

* Exercise as a means of workplace health promotion

In addition, I enjoy developing our theoretical understanding of sport scandals as a social and cultural phenomenon, investigating the methodology of discourse analysis, and exploring ironic communication.

I serve at the editorial board of the following journals: European Sport Management Quarterly, International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics, and the International Journal of Sport Communication. I am a member of the International Sociology of Sport Association (ISSA) and the European Association for Sport Management (EASM).

I am a member of the research group SoRSE - Sociological Research in Sport and Exercise, and since November 2023 I serve as the Head of the Section Sport, Individual & Society
