Yongluan Zhou is professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH). He is co-head of the Data Management Systems Lab (DMS Lab), and head of studies of the MSc in Computer Science.

Before joining UCPH, he had been associate professor at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and postdoc at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). He obtained his PhD in Computer Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also held visiting positions at several international institutes, including the University of Maryland at College Park, the Advanced Digital Sciences Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and INRIA Rennes.

His research interests span database systems and distributed systems. His recent research focuses on event-based systems, scalable stream processing and graph processing. He has published over 60 research articles in international journals and conference proceedings.
