Abstract
In an Article written by the NCD Risk Factor Collaboration (NCD-RisC)1 on worldwide trends of underweight and obesity at the global level from 1990 to 2022, the authors report an alarmingly high increase in obesity rates in both children and adolescents and adults. In most countries where combined underweight and obesity have increased, the trend is driven by obesity. In the Article, underweight and obesity have been defined in adults as a BMI less than 18·5 kg/m2 for underweight and equal to or greater than 30 kg/m2 for obesity.
