Abstract
This article examines the role of work in Danish literature about Greenland, where the workplace often serves as a zone of conflict. It introduces a literary historical overview followed by a close reading of Jørgen Liljensøe's novel Barakkerne (1977). Additionally, it discusses recent Danish literature about Greenland by Kim Leine and Iben Mondrup. The study is primarily informed by the spatial turn, but also draws on postcolonial theory.
