Abstract
How can elements from DMT and dance be developed as an innovative creative training method for somatic awareness, sensory bodily communication and leadership in various educational contexts and professional worlds?
The body is always sensing and communicating through eye contact, touch, space, rhythms and emotional resonance. In this workshop, we will move, reflect and explore how creative and joyful movements can train our awareness, contactability and leadership skills.
The workshop builds on training methods, phenomenological-inspired research-based concepts, and results from an ongoing 15 year-long research journey about "The Language of the Body in Professional Practice, Leadership and Education". The projects involved choreographed new worlds. They examined whether courses comprised of theory, dance, and movement lessons could be beneficial for the embodied professionalism of e.g. nursing students, student teachers and experienced leaders. Results have been implemented in e.g.
nursing education, teacher education, dance education, DMT education and postgraduate leadership education.
