    Abstract

Analyses of animal bones excavated on a submarine stone Age settlement, Ronæs Skov, at Gamborg Fjord, Funen. At least seven species of fish, four species of birds and nineteen species of mammals were exploited at this Ertebølle site. Fishing for cod were characteristic and swans as well as cormorants were hunted. The most frequent mammals at the site in the Ronæs skov material are wild boar, red deer and roe deer. A significant element of marine mammals is also apparant: several species of seal and whale. Especially bones from harboar porpoise are worth noting.
