N2 - During the last years the edition and translation of new works and documents has become a relevant contribution to the History of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) in the Islamic West. An example of this is the recently edited Kitāb al-ribā, until now an unknown work of the Maliki fiqh which I have examined and translated into Spanish. The appearance of this text, which was a mere reference in the bibliographical dictionaries up to now, constitutes a valuable source for the study on the medieval economic law and the development of fiqh in al-Andalus.
