N2 - The innovation project SOSLOKAL seeks to develop social sustainability as a core value and reference point for local community development through a close collaboration between the partners Kristiansand, Fredrikstad and Stavanger municipalities, the Urban and Regional Research Institute NIBR, OsloMet, the Norwegian University of Life sciences (NMBU) and Sunne Kommuner - WHO's Norwegian network. The starting point for the project is a recognized need for new knowledge about what social sustainability means in a local, Norwegian context. This report summarizes the experiences after carrying out the project's main activities in Stavanger (spring 2022). The same main activities have been carried out in Kristiansand (autumn 2021) and will be carried out in Fredrikstad in autumn 2022. The report therefore provides valuable knowledge to these three municipalities, but also has general relevance for other municipalities that want a stronger focus on social sustainability in their local communities. The project is financed by the Research Council of Norway.
