Abstract
The chapter proposes an intellectual history of neoliberalism in Sweden and Denmark. It asks the question of how these two countries came to neoliberalism, and it argues that while there are common trajectories, Sweden has a longer and more clearcut history of neoliberal arguments than Denmark, where a larger plurality of liberal ideas endured.
