Touching Visions: Film as a tool to share emotions and experiences

Research output: Contribution to journalJournal articleResearchpeer-review

Abstract

Scholars with different backgrounds in literature, architecture, landscape architecture and filmmaking joined forces in a series of research workshops exploring filmmaking as a caring and co-affective methodology. Inspired by feminist scholars who have addressed how to care for non-human realms and their collective creation, we wanted to stress aspects of care through film as a methodology that implies awareness towards interconnectedness. This approach encourages an attention towards the tools and mediations we use, and to discuss their strengths and weaknesses. Our visual essay reflects upon the collaborative making of the film TOUCHING VISIONS1 and through stills from the film, it explores filmmaking as a caring practice of emotion and experience sharing.
